The Los Angeles Philharmonic tapped OneNinth to produce a couple commercials this season. The first, “This Is Ours,” features an aerial tour of LA’s beaches, freeways, and some really cool shots of low clouds crowding the skyscrapers downtown. The final destination? The Walt Disney Concert Hall of course! Swoop into the WDCH as we fly a drone inside the iconic building — for the first time ever — and get an awesome, unique view of the full orchestra in the middle of performing Bolero’s most recognizable piece.
OneNinth was commissioned by IMAX to create a special, customized countdown trailer for the release of “Monk Comes Down the Mountain,” a spectacular film — directed by Academy Award winner Chen Kaige (Farewell My Concubine) — that premiered this month at the Shanghi Film Festival. The 3D, CG design intertwines a journey through painterly environments and magical elements from the film, priming IMAX audiences for a cinematic adventure. With a pending North American release date, “Monk Comes Down the Mountain” hit theaters across China on July 3rd, taking in over $7 million opening day!

Monk Comes Down the Mountain (Chinese: 道士下山) is a Chinese comedy-fantasy-adventure film directed by Chen Kaige and starring Wang Baoqiang, Aaron Kwok and Chang Chen, Lin Chi-ling, Fan Wei, Yuen Wah, Vanness Wu, Wang Xueqi, Danny Chan Kwok-kwan, Lam Suet and Dong Qi. It is based on the best-selling novel Dao Shi Xia Shan (A Monk Comes Down the Mountain) by Xu Haofeng. Filming started in March 2014 on location in Xianghe, China’s Hebei Province. The film was released on July 3, 2015.
